Visiting Prof. Cancedda, Genova

Prof. Cancedda is envolved in many research projects in tissue engineering. He has published numerous papers, among them the first follow-up of critical size bone defects treated with a hydroxyapatite scaffold and MSC (Stem cells associated with macroporous bioceramics for long bone repair: 6- to 7-year outcome of a pilot clinical study). Lately, he and his team have been focussing on new ceramics used for tissue engineering of bone in sheep. Visiting this excellent labratory was a true highlight of the year.
